Monflanquin Medieval Festival
We have been able to swap holiday dates for a family previously booked in August, so that fortnight from 8-22 August is now available again. The Monflanquin Medieval Festival is an annual event which is held mid-August, the week-end right in the middle of these two weeks! The celebration features a street parade, acrobats, musicians, dancers, jousting, falconry, performances and markets, throughout the day and into the evening, with residents recreating village life and dressing in 13th century attire to re-enact life from 1256, when the Bastide was built. If you’re staying at Cap del Bosc during the Festival, its an amazing spectacle not to be missed!

Our second holiday here and another wonderful, very relaxing time. We explored many old favourite destinations (Monflanquin, Pujols, Tournon and Agen) and also discovered a new place (for us) – Latour-Marliac, just west of Villeneuve. A historic nursery, 19th century, the home of the French National waterlily collection and the place that Monet ordered his waterlilies from for Giverny. Beautiful flowers and lotus plants there to see and buy! The two weeks here have flown by. Thank you for providing so much in the house and for the garden. We have wanted for nothing! It’s so relaxing – and unusual! – to find a house so well equipped and so clean for our holiday. Wonderful! Thank you. September 2025

We honestly can’t believe how peaceful this place is. We are feeling totally refreshed and rejuvenated from our stay here. This holiday for us was all about relaxing and recharging our batteries, as we have been to many places in the area before. So, we have spent most of the time lounging by the pool, soaking up the glorious sunshine (albeit a little too hot at times!) and relaxing reading good books (my six to M’s one!) The house is perfectly well equipped, we really couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you for a truly peaceful escape. August 2025

Another week spent in tranquility! A truly relaxing week spent with the birds, bees and butterflies in this enchanting property hidden away from the rest of civilization. Weather was perfect. June 2025

We have enjoyed a sunny dry September week here – one of us even managed to get into the pool every day! I don’t think we’ve ever stayed in such a well-equipped house before! Thank you for making everything so easy and comfortable. Our first time at the house – but not the first time in the region. We visited some old favourites that we love and would recommend – Tournon, Monflanquin, Pujols, Montaigu-de-Quercy and Villeneuve. Writing this on our Friday afternoon, the week has just flown by! Third time coming and what a wonderful holiday again. Relaxed and recharged, something for everyone to do, there is nothing left wanting, all you could wish for is here. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. We have had a wonderful time again. Plenty and beautiful towns and villages to explore followed by afternoons swimming in the pool, a piece of heaven for everyone. Thank you x July 2024

Two weeks at Cap del Bosc have flown by! The property surpassed what were already high expectations. We wanted total peace and quiet and we certainly got that! Great to see such a variety of birds and animals in the grounds, including hares, deer (with fawn!) loir (edible dormouse) hoopoe, woodpecker, jay and buzzard. House was great with everything you could possibly need. Fantastic weather too! June 2024
Tour de France

Cap del Bosc is equidistant between Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Agen in SW France. If you’re a cycling fan, check out where Stage 11 finishes and Stage 12 starts in 2024 …..!

We have returned! Last visit in August 2019 and we have dreamed of this place all through the Covid lockdowns and decided we had to come back!
We’ve had a fantastic week here – the children are now 14 & 17 and this time we’ve still loved the pool, eating outdoors, along with the table tennis and swing-ball, as well as DVD sessions when needing to cool off.
Some recommendations from us: Night Market, Pujols (marche nocturnes) – local food festival in the summer months, Wednesday evenings from 6.30 p.m. Gets busy – get there promptly for a seat in the square. The locals take their own plates and cutlery and wine glasses! Lots of different food vendors to buy from.
Le Gascon Boulongerie/Patisserie in Laroque Timbout – open in the mornings (not Monday) from 6.30 a.m. for delicious fresh bread and pastries that we feasted on most days.
We’ve enjoyed all that Cap del Bosc has to offer and the fantastic facilities here – really is a home from home and I’d hope we can visit again in the future!
